It doesn't exactly take a village to host the Emmys, but this year expect at least five people to split the workload.

It looks like producers of the television industry's big awards night are putting final touches on a plan to have the five nominees of the new category, Best Reality Show Host, share emcee duties, sources tell me.

This would mean American Idol ringmaster Ryan Seacrest would return for the second time (he was the lone host last year) and be joined by Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal), Tom Bergeron (Dancing With the Stars) and longtime Survivor overlord Jeff Probst.

An Emmy rep did not comment.

This wouldn't be the first ceremony with multiple hosts. The 55th Emmys Awards in 2003 were hosted by 11 comedians, including Ellen DeGeneres, Conan O'Brien, George Lopez and Wanda Sykes, among others.

The 60th Annual Primetime Emmys will air live Sept. 21 on ABC from L.A.'s Nokia Theatre.
