Jennifer Love Hewitt should start looking at awards show red carpet dresses now.

If all is right with the world, she'll be nominated for her work as a rape victim in last week's Law & Order: SVU

"I think she will get an Emmy nomination," L&O creator Dick Wolf told us this morning after his Los Angeles magazine Breakfast Conversation event at Kate Mantilini restaurant. "I think it's one of the more amazing actor transformations that I've seen. She put herself onto a different level."

We couldn't agree more.

While the same episode included Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) traveling to Hollywood and enlisting the help of Det. Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich) from the new Law & Order: Los Angeles, Wolf says the two shows probably won't be mixing it up together too much. "There may be opportunities for limited crossovers, but we're not planning on anything bigger," he said. "They're 3,000 miles apart!"

And now we gotta tell you about Law & Order: Los Angeles' connection to Woody Allen. Yes, that Woody Allen!

The legendary New York director had a pivotal role in casting little known actor Corey Stoll as Winters' partner, Det. T.J. Jaruszalski. "He was clearly one of the two finalists [when] an email went off on my iPhone, Wolf said. "It was an email from Woody Allen, who wrote, 'I saw Corey on Broadway and immediately hired him for my next film that is coming out. I can't recommend this guy more highly.' That's a pretty good recommendation."

Now, if he could just get Woody for a guest spot on L&O. How brilliant would that be?
