Welcome to your 15 minutes, Bryan Masche.
But what exactly is this Raising Sextuplets father all about when he's not getting arrested, threatened with a Taser and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct? Here are five things you need to know about him…
1. He's a Working Dad: Let's start with the basics: The 32-year-old father of sextuplets lives with his wife Jenny, a 35-year-old physician's assistant and their gaggle of 3-year-olds in Destin, Fla., where they relocated earlier this year. He left his job as a pharmaceutical salesman last year and has since started his own business as a financial consultant. He also served eight years in the United States Air Force Security Forces, and he says his dream is to "run for office, either for the state senate in Florida or perhaps the U.S. Congress." Well, at least it's a career path where this arrest won't come back to haunt him. Oh, wait.
2. He's Already Been Working on Some Issues: While the newly released police report makes it clear that wife Jenny wasn't present for the domestic violence incident (that honor fell to his father-in-law and kids), the couple have been undergoing regular counseling with Dr. Debra Mandel since relocating to Florida and see a relationship counselor at least once a month. While appearing on the Today Show over the summer, Jenny said their family works thanks to "a lot of prayer, a lot of God, a lot of counseling." Maybe a little more of that last one is in order?
3 He's Been Trying to Keep His Romance Alive: In no mean feat of scheduling, the couple has long espoused their ability to prioritize date nights even after the birth of their children. Pre-kids, the duo boasted three or four date nights per week. After? One date night a month. Which, considering what's on their plate, seems ample. And it seems more than ample once you consider that Bryan's list of favorite activities includes "shooting guns," "blowing things up in the desert" and reading the Bible. Not necessarily in that order, presumably.
4 He Loves His Kids…but Has an Odd Way of Expressing It: Jesus isn't the only thing the Masches love. Take it away, Bryan: "They have changed my life 100 percent for the better. ...There's a lot of frustration at times, but these kids have been absolutely the most amazing gift I've ever received, except for my wife. I'm a very happy man although sometimes I get very frustrated and upset and sometimes my anger gets out. Overall, I would not trade my life for all the poppy in Afghanistan." So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
5 It Might Be a Family Thing: Sure, the terrible threes could be to blame, but violent outbursts aren't exactly new ground for the family, as "gentle giant" son Grant tried to pound on both Natalie Morales—who jokingly, we're sure, referred to their appearance as "disastrous"—and his sisters in between bouts of screaming, throwing and tears in their now infamous morning show appearance (the fact that Bryan basically did the same to his father-in-law over the weekend will likely do nothing to correct the tyke's behavior). Say what you will about Kate Gosselin, those eight are pillars of good behavior. Plus, there's got to be a reason why the U.K. airs the show under a different name. Ouch! Sextuplets does have a certain ring to it, don't you think?
