Regis Philbin is the consummate professional. And part of being the consummate professional means that even when you have nothing to say, you just string some words together confidently and in a familiar cadence and assume that people will think it means something. Unfortunately, this morning with Meredith Vieira, it didn't work.
OK, so that joke didn't make any sense. But it's still impressive considering Regis has been dead for a good 10 years now.
