Doesn't look like Jeremy Renner will be hurting for big-time movie roles anymore.

The Oscar-nominated star of The Hurt Locker is in talks to star alongside Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible IV, sources close to the production tell E! News. Though Cruise is still set to star in a fifth Mission installment, it's been rumored the studio behind the flicks was looking to cast a costar who could take over the lead role should Cruise's Ethan Hunt , um, be disavowed.

So far, Renner's 2008 role as an IED dismantler has helped him land a series of high-profile parts. Next month, audiences will see him opposite Ben Affleck in the cops-and-robbers drama The Town. And in 2012, he's appearing alongside Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Sameul L. Jackson in Joss Whedon's The Avengers.

What do you think? Is Renner the right guy for this mission?
