Let's just hope Katharine McPhee wasn't tweeting at the wheel.
The American Idol alum wound up in the hospital late yesterday after getting rear-ended while driving in Los Angeles. But the injuries weren't serious enough to keep her from hitting Twitter.
Luckily the singer—who is still "sore" today, according to her rep—tweeted about the incident while getting examined.
Turns out it wasn't her health, or her car, that she was worried about. Instead, the fresh-faced cutie, who is still married to producer Nick Cokas, was more concerned about her lack of makeup, because she sure took a liking to the strapping rescue teams that came to her aide.
"Just had a lovely experience at the local Sherman oaks hospital. Was hit from behind pretty dang hard. My one regret was not wearing makeup today because all the fireman & policeman were sooooo hott! And sweet! I will be ok. Sore but ok."
"Just glad to be ok!"
The news wasn't as good for her car: "One more thing...my car, definitely not going to be ok. It's seen better days"
Her publicist tells E! News the 26-year-old had been sitting at a red light on Ventura Boulevard when another car came around the corner, was blinded by sunlight, and smacked into McPhee's ride. There was no immediate comment from police or fire department spokespersons.
Dane Cook, meanwhile, followed the drama as it played out on Twitter and couldn't resist tweaking her about her crush on the uniformed hunks: "glad ur ok KM. Weird. I was in car accident today in full makeup, hair, wardrobe &background singers.Ugly cops."
McPhee had just finished the Hunger-Free Summer Tour on Tuesday in Texas. She had been volunteering in Houston, where she performed for area kids and distributed food for the Houston Food Bank.
