James Devaney/WireImage.comHoly shocker! ABC has confirmed that Jennifer Aniston is guest starring on Cougar Town's second-season premiere on Sept 22.
OK, so it's not a shocker in the slightest since the rumor has been out for a while, but here's why we're pissed:
There are no reports of C.T. boss Bill Lawrence standing on a rooftop and shouting the news, even though he just swore to us that (a) there was nothing to report regarding Aniston and (b) he would shout the news to anyone and everyone the very nanosecond it happened.
Bill, did you oversleep? Get on that rooftop, baby!
Oh wait, we now see that the rooftop is indeed my frenemy's platform over at EW.com. Touché! Well, consider this an echo through the valley.
According to Lawrence, Aniston is going to play "Courteney [Cox]'s shrink, named Bonnie—kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has."
The last time Monica Courteney and Rachel Jennifer worked together on TV was for Courteney's show Dirt.
Now that this first "friend" is booked, and Lawrence has said he's invited all the cast to bring on their friends in the new season, how about that one Busy Phillips told us she's working on: her real-life BFF Michelle Williams, to come on as her sister? Let's make it happen, B.L.!
