After years of bachelorhood and beautiful women, George Clooney is finally ready to settle down with his hottie du jour, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis—that is, if you believe the Italian tabloids.

But we don't, so all you women holding out hope will be happy to know that the Cloonster isn't ready to tie the knot and that reports of any upcoming nuptials are "not true," rep Stan Rosenfield tells E! News.

But the wedding rumors do have some basis in fact...

Being the all-around good guy that he is, the 49-year-old Oscar winner (and soon-to-be Emmy honoree) agreed to let pal Ben Weiss borrow Clooney's wedding-picture-perfect Italian villa in Lake Como. Weiss, a prolific TV director who has worked on such shows as Friends, Joey, Rules of Engagement and Cougar Town, is going to swap vows next month.

Also adding fuel to the rumor-spreading fire, Clooney recently got gussied up to attend the Italian wedding of Leatherheads costar John Krasinski to Emily Blunt, sparking talk that the former ER hunk was planning to walk down the aisle himself.

In any case, the Italian tabloid Chi took the liberty of picking the July 29 date for Clooney's nonexistent nuptials and several European media outlets jumped on the story. For example, the U.K.'s Daily Mail went ahead and republished the wedding buzz in a story about Clooney recently testifying at a fraud trial.

For those keeping score at home, Clooney was married once before to actress Talia Balsam, daughter of veteran Hollywood actor Martin Balsam, from 1989 to 1993.
