Talk about a careless driver!

George Michael was collared early Sunday morning after driving his car through a storefront in the posh neighborhood of Hampstead, in north London, as he was returning home from a gay pride parade.

Per the U.K.'s Daily Mail, London police took Michael into custody at about 3:35 a.m. on suspicion of being "unfit to drive," and booked him into a nearby station after he destroyed the exterior of a Snappy Snaps photo shop. He was later released on bail pending further investigation, and a hearing has been set for Aug. 13.

As it happens, the 47-year-old crooner just had his license reinstated last May after authorities banned him from getting behind the wheel for two years back in 2007, following a previous motor mishap when Michael, high on a "cocktail" of drugs, was busted for obstructing a traffic light.

The popster was also busted last August after crashing his Range Rover into a seven-ton truck, but was released without being charged. He subsequently vowed to cut back on his marijuana use, calling it excessive.

Michael subsequently issued a statement Tuesday apologizing for the incident:

"I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them," he said.
