He won't be heading for The Hills anytime soon.

A California man obsessed with Audrina Patridge pleaded no contest today to felony stalking in violation of a restraining order.

Now it's up to a team of shrinks to help determine his fate.

Shiara Davila-Morales, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles D.A.'s Office, tells E! News that Zachary Loring will undergo a 90-day psychiatric evaluation. If found to have been competent when police busted him in February for repeatedly showing up uninvited at the MTV star's home,  the dude could be sentenced to two years behind bars by the judge.

However, should the docs find him to be of unsound mind, then the 25-year-old could spend unspecified time in a mental institution.

Having his head checked is probably a good thing considering the profanity-laced tirade Loring launched in court two months ago as he was initially seeking to plead guilty.

The next hearing in the case is set for Sept. 20.
