As a 30 Rock fan, and with Emmy noms right around the corner, I gotta wonder: Has any actor scored the coveted EGOT?

First, let's get the cretins caught up. By EGOT, we mean Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony—a four-sided holy grail that 30 Rock character Tracy Jordan hopes to one day achieve. He even has neck bling to that effect, a necklace with the letters hammered out in gold plate. Several stars have already "EGOTted," as the parlance goes, including Whoopi Goldberg. But who's next? I have some predictions...

First of all, you should know that Liza Minnelli had a life before she covered "Single Ladies" for that cryptfest known as Sex and the City 2. She, too, has EGOTted, along with Mel Brooks, Barbra Streisand (of course) and others.

Plenty of actors have half an EGOT; Denzel Washington just won his Tony for his role in the play Fences and has Oscars for Training Day and Glory. Catherine Zeta-Jones also has an Oscar and a Tony.

Helen Mirren also has two out of the four, including an Oscar for The Queen and four Emmys—one for her amazing alcoholic detective character in Prime Suspect. She has multiple Tony nominations, but has yet to win.

All of the people above may fall under the duh category. But here's a stealth EGOT contender for you, one that people from the New Jersey tri-state area would know quite well: Bruce Springsteen. He won an Oscar for his musical contribution to the Tom Hanks weeper Philadelphia, a related Grammy and a technical Emmy for an HBO special he did with the E Street Band. That leaves only a Tony.

Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, the Musical, anyone?
