Jesse James Slams Baby Mama, Shows in Court

Call it a practice run.

Jesse James appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court today to watch jury selection in his ongoing civil suit clothing dispute and to possibly take the stand in his own defense.

James rode into court on his motorcycle this morning, and took a seat behind his lawyers while jury selection began and his potentially character-upholding peers were questioned.

So far, James has yet to take the stand.

That may change next Thursday, however, when James and perpetually-troubled ex-wife Janine Lindemulder are due to appear in court in their increasingly contentious custody battle over 6-year-old daughter Sunny.

And it may get heated.

In newly-filed declaration, James lobs some damning allegations at his ex, chief among them that she's a "habitual drug user." He also claims that there is absolutely "no evidence" that she has "established any stability in her life."

To support his claim, he submitted statements from his brother-in-law and sister to the court, in which both say they've witnessed Lindemulder take drugs on several occasions, including Vicodin and cocaine, repeatedly swear at her daughter and pass out drunk while Sunny was in her care.

Lindemulder, for her part, denies the accusations. Oddly, she also argues that not only are they not true, but they were purported to have occurred more than three years ago, so shouldn't apply anyway.

As for Lindemulder, she only returned to California in the past week, after being released from a halfway house on June 4. She is asking to reestablish shared custody of Sunny, claiming that the court order put into place in 2008 stipulated that legal and physical custody of the girl would return to an even split once she was released from transitional housing.

However, she now argues that James has no intention of honoring that order, saying that he's planning to move to Texas, and take Sunny along with him, in the next few weeks. She says the relocation would not only violate court orders, but would traumatize their daughter.

She also threw the "no evidence" claim back at him, saying he had no proof that allowing her to have a relationship with her daughter would be, as he claims, detrimental.

This could get ugly. Well, uglier.
