Woody Harrelson: Natural Born Kicker

Oscar-winning actor scores game-winning goal against England in international charity soccer match

With the historic USA vs. England World Cup match just days away, the Americans are already beating the Brits in the most beautiful game.

Thanks to...Woody Harrelson.

Yes, that Woody Harrelson. Before 65,000 fans Sunday in Manchester's famed Old Trafford stadium, the Oscar-nominated actor's shootout goal gave his Rest of the World team the victory over England in the annual Soccer Aid charity match played by soccer superstars and celebrities.

The pros were the only players to score in regulation, tying the game 2-2, so it was up to the celebrities to decide the outcome in overtime penalty kicks. The Twilight Saga's Michael Sheen (he's Welsh, not English) and Mike Myers (!) scored for The Rest of the World, but misses—including by The Mentalist's Simon Baker—kept it even with Robbie Williams and the England squad. It all came down to Zombieland star Woody, known less these days for his White Men Can't Jump athleticism than his laidback, hemp-loving lifestyle.

In the end, he smoked it. The goal, that is.
