Grammy-winning singer marries rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway in private ceremony days before her birthday

Alanis Morissette has one hand in her pocket and the other bearing a new wedding ring.

The angst-embracing Grammy-owning Canadian singer recently got hitched to rapper Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway, her rep confirms to E! News.

The two reportedly had a small, private ceremony at her Los Angeles home on May 22, exactly 10 days before the singer's 36th b-day on June 1.

Morissette took to Facebook to thank fans for birthday wishes, but neither she nor her hubby has publicly addressed their nuptials, but she did hint that things are "better" than she imagined they would be now.

"Thank you guys so much for your sweet birthday well-wishings....getting older has turned out to be better than i imagined...things getting softer and clearer and juicier and and and....

"Big love to you each. xoxo Alanis."

This is the first trip down the aisle for the Former Infatuation Junkie, who was previously engaged to Ryan Reynolds before they called things off in 2007.
