While Charlie Sheen gets ready to cop a plea Monday in Aspen, his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller, seems ready to get back into the swing of things, Hollywood style, of course.

Mueller made her first red carpet appearance since their Christmas showdown tonight at the Ninth Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, and was all smiles in a blue strapless silk gown as she posed on the carpet, skipping out on most interviews—except ours...

We chatted with Brooke briefly—after she basically floated down the carpet—about how she's doing and why she was ready to take the spotlight again…

"Because of my best friend, Rebecca Gayheart," Mueller tells us about her big public debut.

Gayheart is a cochair of the Butterfly Ball and heavily involved with Chrysalis, which helps the economically disadvantaged.

Adds Mueller: "And I have also been a part of this charity for several years. It's a good cause."

Minus her stint in rehab, Mueller has kept a super low profile since her and Charlie's Yuletide altercation, but seems to be in better spirits now.

"I'm doing fine," Brooke says with a big ol', almost gloating smile. "And the boys are great, thank you."

Mueller was hand in hand with famed publicist Elliot Mintz who is specially trained in press comebacks, (Paris Hilton's jail fiasco anyone?), so Brooke kept super mum on making any comments about Sheen before being pulled away inside.

Somehow we don't think this will be the last of Brooke we see. While Charlie (rightfully) spends two and a half weeks in jail this is prime time for Brooke to gloat, float, (and then some) around L.A. Think Denise Richards will join her?
