And here we thought Lindsay Lohan had a lock on offering up the oddest excuse of the day. Well folks, a new challenger has stepped into the ring!

Pole-friendly Miss USA Rima Fakih stopped by the Today show this morning and, after paying lip service to her world-peace-seeking win on the pageant circuit, she addressed the controversy du jour.

Rima, you see, was doing nothing more than being a solid friend.

"I just want to say, I can't deny the pictures, obviously people can see them on TV right now," she told Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer this morning.

"I just want to make it clear it was not a stripper-pole contest, it was actually a promotional event that my friend, who's a DJ at a radio station, had for women. It collected about 100-150 women and they teach them how to dance and feel sexy.

"These pictures were taken, obviously they were not the best pictures you could see, however, I want to say that it's not what you see. I didn't do anything wrong."

Eh, no contest. Lindsay takes this one by a mile.
