Sure, Matt Lauer's had marital problems. But not the Boreanaz-Tiger-Jesse kind, he says.

Earlier today, the National Enquirer reported that Lauer, who's currently in France anchoring Today from the Cannes Film Festival, and his wife of 12 years had split up because he'd been having an affair—and not his first affair, if you've been believing certain tabloids over the years.

"I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple," the Today show cohost tells People in a statement. "I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that."

"Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No," Lauer says. "But the stories you've read over the years are not true. I don't think we're any different than any married couple that's been together for 12 years. The accusations are ridiculous and I'm not going to [dignify] them with an answer. It's not true."

He calls the cheating allegations "ridiculous" and "offensive."

Added Annette Lauer: "Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family and protect them."

The couple have three children, sons Jack, 8, and Thijs, 3, and daughter Romy, 6. This is Lauer's second marriage.
