Kenny Chesney's House Goes Under in Nashville

"TN is a mess. You need see it," the country music star tweets after his house is irreparably damaged by floodwaters

Celebrity is worth less than a sandbag when it comes to natural disasters.

Count Kenny Chesney among the thousands of displaced Nashville residents tonight after floodwaters ripped through his 40-acre waterfront property.

"Sending Anderson Cooper footage of my house under water for tonight. TN is a mess. You need to see it. 10p ET CNN," the country star wrote on Twitter Wednesday. He also posted a picture of him standing knee-deep in water on his dock, having already thrown a guitar and other possessions into a waiting motorboat.

Vicious thunderstorms and flooding had left at least two dozen people dead in Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi, including 10 in Nashville, as of Tuesday. The Cumberland River crested at 51.8 feet on Monday night.

"Omg, I've been in tears for the last hour. I love you Nashville!," Mississippi native LeAnn Rimes chimed in this evening after watching coverage on CNN.

"My heart is broken hearing all the sad stories! I think Vince lost his whole vintage guitar collection," she said, referring to Vince Gill, who's headlining Working 4 You: Flood Relief With Vince Gill & Friends on WSMV-TV Thursday at 7 p.m.

The telethon will also feature appearances from Naomi Judd, Alison Krauss, Darius Rucker, Phil Vassar and Bo Bice.

Rimes is one of many artists who have equipment and other mementos at the famed Grand Ole Opry, which has also sustained severe damage.

"On the positive side everyone is safe," tweeted Brad Paisley. "On the negative... I think all my road guitar gear, amps, effects, are under 3 ft of river.

"Not complaining though. Very very thankful to have weathered this. Prayers go out to anyone in these dire situations...Just know, that as you watch us perform on the H20 tour,our entire stage& set has literally been under water. Now that's cred right there.

"But we're drying it out, and ourselves, and here we come Virginia Beach."

Added Michelle Branch: "Just realized what was left of my indie album Broken Bracelet (6k) is all submerged under water along with my vintage pink sparkle Wurlitzer."

"Thanks so much to everyone who came and helped out yesterday!" Kellie Pickler tweeted from Nashville, where she was helping with relief efforts. "You are a blessing!!"
