And this is why you don't stop believing.
Glee claimed another victory in its quest for world domination Wednesday when Glee: The Music—The Power of Madonna debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart after selling 98,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The Madonna-themed episode, which aired April 20, also scored 13.6 million viewers, the Golden Globe-winning dramedy's biggest audience yet. The studio recordings of the Material Girl's music as sung by the Glee cast was immediately available for sale online after the broadcast.
In this day and age, when no one wants to pay for anything online, dropping $6.99 for a mini-album is nothing for even Sue Sylvester to scoff at.
Interestingly enough, coming in at No. 4 is AC/DC's Iron Man 2, the first time in the sales chart's 54-year history that two soundtracks have debuted in the top five, according to Billboard.
