As alpha bitch on Melrose Place, Heather Locklear called the shots. Today, her fate is the hands of someone else.

The Ventura County District Attorney's Office confirms to E! News that it will decide whether to press charges against the actress for an alleged hit-and-run earlier this month. Detectives handed their case to the prosecutors earlier today.

"It's here but it has not been assigned yet," says a spokesman for the D.A. "No one is reviewing it yet."

There is no timetable on when the case will be reviewed, the rep says, but since Locklear is a celebrity it could possibly go through faster.

Locklear was cited with a misdemeanor traffic ticket on April 17 after neighbors reported she hit a "no parking" sign early that morning near her home in Westlake Village, Calif.

Her attorney, Blair Berk, has previously said that while her car did the damange, it was unclear whether the actress, who has a checkered driving record, was the one behind the wheel.
