Well, this is a new one. And that's saying a lot, considering the source.

Michael Lohan, accompanied by some deputies from the West Hollywood Division of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, arrived at Lindsay Lohan's apartment earlier today, ostensibly out of concern for the welfare of 16-year-old Ali, who has been staying with her sister.

And needless to say, Lindsay didn't take the unannounced visit too well.

"OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" began Lindsay's lengthy Twitter spew. "I have no choice but to make this public, due to my sister's safety, as well as my own. 'my ex-dad' just WALKED INTO MY APT like the devil's advocate with officers..."

And that's just the start of the trainwreck. Here's the rest of the crash:

"Let's not forget, that my father KIDNAPPED me from a COURT ROOM when I was 4 years old and is CRAZY. He has NEVER paid child support, and is marrying a tabloid writer and can barely spell his own name due to his 'brain' that has been ruined due to HIS drug use.

"When will it ever end…it's been going on my whole life with him-hasn't he caused enough pain? Thank g-d for mommy…w/out her, i wouldn't even know myself.."

Lindsay then said she's trying to find a lawyer to take up her cause.

"I am wondering what the world is coming to when my father can hire cops and walk into my apt w/out notice. Not to mention, he's the one that's been in prison most of my life…he, or the sheriffs had NO legal grounds to be here at all."

It's unclear what Michael accomplished with his scene-causing storm-in (aside from angering his daughters), or even why he felt the need for the armed detail, though he tells E! News he made the trip out of concern for the welfare of his youngest daughter.

"I went to the Sheriff's Department and I told them I wanted to go over to my daughter's apartment to check on her welfare," he told E! News. "She is a minor and she has no right being here alone. I am not going to see Ali go down the same path as Lindsay."

His account was backed up by authorities. "The father of actress Lindsay Lohan contacted West Hollywood station personnel regarding the welfare of his 15-year-old [sic] daughter. Deputues responded to the residence and contacted [Lindsay] Lohan as well as the minor in question. Deputies determined [Ali] was not in danger and left," the department said in a statement.

The elder Lohan says his fatherly concern was first sparked when he learned—he didn't say how—that Ali and Lindsay left their pad last week at 2:30 a.m. and sped, at 115 mph, to Coachella. This, apparently, was enough for him to book the earliest flight he could out to Los Angeles.

"The manager of her building gave me the key, and we went up to her apartment," Lohan said. "I knocked on the door, and sheriff's deputies announced they were entering."

Both girls were home and fine, so the deputies, and Michael, left.

"Lindsay seemed somewhat hungover and irate," Lohan said.

Um, could you blame her?

Clearly not satisfied with the outcome of the visit, Papa Lohan is now reportedly set to turn to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. While he gave no specific reason for today's crusade, he seems to be going with the "enough is enough" defense.

"Ali does not belong out here with Lindsay," he said. "I'm not going to stop. I wanted to make sure my daughter Ali was OK. Why would Dina allow for Ali to be in this element again? Unless Dina and Lindsay don't get on the same page, I am going to do everything to make sure Lindsay gets the help she needs and Ali has the life of a normal 16-year-old."

Dina called the move by her ex "dangerous" and said he needs to leave his kids alone.

Michael, meanwhile, also made sure to take to his Twitter page for a little damage control.

"Lindsay can twitter all she wants," he wrote. "This is about Ali and her welfare. Ali is 16 and Dina has no right allowing Ali to be in such elements."

Hey, not everyone thinks Lindsay Lohan is headed downhill. Just ask Amanda Seyfried!
