American Idol Gets Simpsonized

We always thought Simon Cowell was something of a cartoon character. Now he really is.

The cantankerous American Idol arbirter, along with cohorts Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and our very own Ryan Seacrest, will get the four-finger treatment on The Simpsons' season finale.

The episode, titled "Judge Me Tender," finds the Idol crew paying a visit to Springfield. Somehow Moe gets involved. (Editor's note: How awesome would it be if an animated Homer replaces Simon on the judging panel? That's wa-a-ay better than Howard Stern.)

The Simpsons episode airs May 23, three days before Idol crowns the winner of its ninth season. Mmmmm....synergy.
