Coachella Roundup: Who Were the King and Queen of the Desert?

Tons of stars made their way out to the desert music fest, but one couple totally impressed us

Seemingly all of L.A. went to the desert for the Coachella Valley Music Festival, and if you hadn't noticed, it was pretty much couple-central. Alexander Skarsgård and Kate Bosworth, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and Jay-Z and Beyoncé were some of the power couples in attendance, just to name a few.

Probably the musical highlight of the weekend, though, was Jay performing to the crowd of tens of thousands of people Friday night.

Jazzy—either emotional at the turnout or slightly, shall we say, toasty as he slurred a few words in between songs onstage—was on fire, performing hits like "Big Pimpin'," "Empire State of Mind" and, oh yeah, "Forever Young" with wife Beyoncé.

But which celeb couple was the coolest of them all according to those who had to handle some of the major stars at the festival?

Jay and B! Must say we're kind of surprised.

"For as big of stars as they are, you would think they would have been a huge pain," says one of the workers backstage. "But they weren't. They couldn't have been nicer and cooler to fans and crew members."

The duo apparently had such a blast performing together Friday night they stayed longer than originally planned, heading back to the festival Saturday sans entourage.

"Jay-Z and Beyoncé were in the regular beer garden watching Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros together," says a fellow boozing spy. "A few fans approached them, but for the most part they were left alone. They totally blended in and looked like they were having a great time. They were adorable together!"

Jay kept his woman close as they rocked out to the band near the outdoor stage. We're told Beyoncé was stunning in a white crop top and—gasp—sandals, looking completely natural with her curly hair. But for such a flashy couple there was no bling to be found!

B wasn't wearing her huge-ass wedding ring, but instead was just arm-in-arm with her hubby. Hey, with all the random ravers a few tents down, we wouldn't break out that expensive rock, either!

One couple that didn't exactly have the chillest time at the concert was Skarsworth.

Alexander got into a scuffle with paparazzi who were attempting to take pics of A.S. and his still-apparent-GF Kate Bosworth.

Even though police got involved to break up the potential fight, Alexander was free to go on his way. But according to one of the security staff, it took a while for sexy Skars to cool off.

"The photographer was incredibly invasive," fesses an eyewitness. "I don't blame [Skarsgård] at all for losing his temper. The guy was pretty aggressive"

Still, that didn't totally hinder the mood for K & A. The blond duo was kissing and cuddling the entire weekend, not attempting to hide their apparent affection for each other at all.

"At one point Kate even got on Alexander's shoulders to dance," adds an onlooker. "They actually looked cute together."

Eh, we still give it a few more months.

As for other notable stars in attendance: Adrian Grenier debuting a new lady friend, Paris Hilton hanging with sister Nicky and completely avoiding her now ex-beau Doug Reinhardt, Katy Perry, Anne Hathaway still apparently going strong with her dude, Lindsay Lohan doing what she does best, and Kellan Lutz "looking rather single" as he partied into the night at the A/X 944 shindig.
