While some celebs are busy ordering fancy dinners and trying to get the attention of a sommelier, Angelina Jolie is trying to bring attention to Somalia. (Let's try not to get those two confused.)

The UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador is sharing her concern for the thousands of displaced people trapped in the African nation's capital.

"I am deeply troubled by the complete and utter disregard for human life in Somalia," she said in a statement. "Another tragedy is unfolding in Somalia as street battles rage on in Mogadishu causing incredible suffering, massive displacement and loss of life…I fear for their lives."

Literally half the nation's population is in need of humanitarian assistance, including 1.4 million displaced persons in the country and another 570,000 refugees. Fighting wages on and makes assistance from aid agencies increasingly difficult.

Oh, Angie, ever the Do-Gooder goddess.
