Andrew Koenig's family is preparing to say their final goodbyes to the late Growing Pains actor. But they want to keep their grieving private.

"There will not be a public memorial," a family member tells E! News.

Yesterday, sources confirmed that the family—many of whom had traveled to Vancouver to search for the actor after he went missing last month—were planning a private service to be held "fairly soon" in their home state of California.

Invitees have been asked to keep mum on the details to maintain the family's privacy and not trigger a media scrum.

Koenig, 41, was found dead Thursday after apparently hanging himself in a remote wooded area of Vancouver's Stanley Park. The former Growing Pains star had suffered from depression, according to his family.
