Blink and you'll miss it—just as the no doubt heavily edited paparazzi video intended.

Yesterday morning after dining in the L.A. suburb of Calabasas with his kids, Travis Barker found himself in a confrontation with paparazzi that eventually resulted in cops being called.

And while the shutterbugs' released footage (and yes, they were very quick to release said footage) seeks to portray the rock star as the menace, Barker has tweeted his own counterpoint. And it is on!

"When I'm out at breakfast at 8am in the morning the last thing I appreciate is some photographer threatening me 2 a fight while he's 3 deep," he tweeted. "When I defend myself/my kids that don't make me a tough guy. I was outnumbered and threatened so I did what any man would."

He also had some choice words for the vulture-like cameramen, and alluded to what might have sparked the tension earlier in the day.

"Paparazzi cried like young girls when it was no longer 3 of them against me and my kids. Didn't they remember threatening me an hr ago??

"What happened to the tough guys with the cameras? It was gonna be a fair fight...3 against 3? I mean I weigh a buck 40, your 200 lbs and 6'6."

And while the photogs claim that Barker's crew got too violent, the police thought otherwise. At the end of the exchange, no charges were filed for one simple reason: The paparazzi were unable to prove any such allegations, despite claiming to have caught the entire incident on camera.

Barker, meanwhile, ended his Twitter rants by schooling the paps on what, exactly, constitutes fair game in the life of a shutterbug—and believe it or not, he does believe that there's a time and a place.

"Bottom line, take photos at red carpets," he wrote. "Take pics of hungry Hollywood starlets and douche bags that are out at clubs and bars that like it. Bottom line I don't. I'm not a socialite out begging for that kind of attention. I'm a family out wit my kids. Don't get the 2 twisted."
