Nick Lachey Gets Surprise Joe Simpson Visit

His ex-wife's dad happens to show up at the same hotel where Lachey is hosting a pre-Super Bowl party

Nothing strange about seeing Vanessa Minnillo show up at Nick Lachey's Super Skins annual bash—they are back together after all—but we were surprised to see a Simpson at his pre-Super Bowl soiree!

Shortly before Nick and Vanessa hit the carpet at Hotel 944 at Eden Roc, Joe Simpson was spotted heading up to the Platino Penthouse, before Snoop Dogg performed at midnight in the ballroom. (Maybe Joe's a closet fan?)

A source tells E! News that Joe is staying at the Eden Roc and knew Nick was hosting an event last night, although they haven't spoken in a while.

As for Nick and Vanessa's reconciliation, he says wedding bells aren't ringing again for him just yet...

"Not tonight!" he answered, when asked when he was going to put a ring on it.

But he does appreciate that his lady loves sports.

"She's a huge sports fan and she's always very supportive of everything I do," he added.

Nick's rooting for a Saints victory, but predicting that the Colts will win.

"I love New Orleans as a city," he told me. "I think it's a great town and they could really benefit from the pride of winning. I'm really hoping they win, but I'm afraid of Peyton Manning!"
