Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon were just a couple o' big names at the Unforgettable Evening event last night in L.A., benefiting the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Women's Cancer Research Fund.

Single 'n' sexy Tay and Reese were joined by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Christina Applegate (just to name a few). So did the newly on-their-own gals bring any man candy for themselves?

Nope!

The blond babes were there with friends, only, and they were more than eager to lend their names and time for such a great cause.

Fellow partiers blab that Taylor Swift "couldn't have been sweeter" as she mingled among famous and nonfamous guests.

Gawd, is Swift really just that nice?

It certainly seems that way if you talk to anyone who's met her. Still, we say it's only a matter of time until she starts hooking up with that baddie John Mayer type. So just be prepared, everybody. It's only natural! Especially after dating someone like puppy-faced Taylor Lautner. Wouldn't you want to shake it up, too, after all those ice-cream dates?

As for Reese, she's coping with her Gyllenspoon split just fine—as if anybody was worried about that one—tho we did hear Witherspoon avoided the press like the black plague (no surprise). She iced the journo types like she does her exes.

If you ask us, in the recent pics of Reese out and about, she looks much happier than when we saw her sippin' coffee with cuddle cutie Jake Gyllenhaal. And might we say, R-doll's looking more youthful for that matter, as if a big weight was lifted, or somethin'.

Hey, to both gals we say keep doing what you're doing! Single looks good on you, babes—no need to settle down into convenient relationships just because you think you should. Keep it up!
