The artist currently known as his original pop-star name hails from Minnesota and has written a track in honor of the team battling this weekend for the chance to play in the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. "Purple and Gold" has a gospel tinge and features such rockin' lyrics as "All of the odds are in our favor/ No prediction too bold/ We are the truth if the truth can be told/ Long reign the purple and gold!"
Quarterback Brett Favre, however, is moved by a decidedly less famous artist.
