Is costarring with his wife the career kiss of death? "She doesn't have to be slumming it with me," he says

Josh Duhamel and Fergie may have met when she appeared on his now-defunct NBC show Las Vegas, but that doesn't mean they're looking to work together again anytime soon.

When I asked Duhamel at the Critics' Choice Awards the other night if he and the wifey have any plans to collaborate, he immediately thought of a certain Material Girl...

"I don't know," he said, adding with a grimace, "there's that movie with Madonna."

It's not clear if he was talking about Madge's starring role opposite Sean Penn in Shanghai Surprise or when she was directed by Guy Ritchie in the dreadful Swept Away, but no matter.

"Sometimes those work and sometimes they don't," said Duhamel, who will next be seen with Kristen Bell in the soon-to-be released romantic comedy When in Rome. "But I think [Fergie] has enough going on in her own life that she doesn't have to be slumming it with me."

The couple does, however, look forward to renewing their vows every year—just not at the same place they did it earlier this month, the ritzy Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara.

"I'm still pissed off at that resort," Duhamel said. "That was supposed to be completely private. They signed stuff so you think sometimes you can avoid [the leaks] if you take the right steps.

"It was an unbelievable day and I'm glad we did it," he continued. "But that was supposed to be between us."

Meanwhile, Duhamel will be sweating for a good cause on Jan. 23, when he leads a two-mile youth run in Santa Monica to benefit the American Red Cross' disaster relief efforts in Haiti.
