It's heartbreaking to hear, so consider yourselves warned.

Los Angeles authorities have released the wrenching 911 call placed by Brittany Murphy's distraught mother, Sharon, upon finding her daughter unconscious in the bathroom Dec. 20.

"Somebody's passed out," Sharon cries on the recording. "My daughter's passed out...She's 30! Please help!"

The 911 operator asks whether Brittany is awake and breathing, and Sharon replies, "No." The operator then coaches her and Simon Monjack, Brittany's husband, as he performs CPR until the ambulance arrives.

"Brittany, please come back!" weeps her mom. "She's dizzy, she couldn't walk right. She's had a cold."

Sadly, they were unable to revive Murphy. The coroner's office has conducted an autopsy but is withholding results until toxicology tests come back in a few weeks.

Listen to the emergency call. (Please note: This is not for the faint of heart.)
