Will hanging out with the cast of the MTV show be a help or a hindrance at the box office for the actor's new movie, Youth in Revolt? We weigh in

If Youth in Revolt is a box-office hit this weekend, should Michael Cera thank Snooki, Vinny and JWoww?

After all, as our Marc Malkin dished yesterday, the actor and self-proclaimed Jersey Shore fan did hang out with the MTV stars as a way to promote his offbeat coming-of-age flick, and got a "guido" makeover in the process.

However, looking at the trailer above, Michael should probably just save his appreciative comments for his fellow costars instead, since Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi and Jean Smart help make this movie about a young man taking a unique approach to losing his virginity a must-see.

Although we're sure The Situation might have something to say about that.
