Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning may never escape to Coney Island together again, but that doesn't stop the younger of the two from sharing warm fuzzies about their time together.

"I got to know Brittany when we made the film Uptown Girls," the New Moon cutie said in a statement. "We became great friends despite the fact we were many years apart in age. Brittany had such a warm child-like spirit that drew people to her. With her goes a piece of my heart and I will miss her terribly. I know how strong Brittany's love was for her family and my heart goes out to all of them, especially her mother Sharon. I love you Brittany."

A certain Ugly Betty fave got his start working with the "child-like" twosome in the same flick.

"RIP Britt, worked with her on my first prof gig. So sweet. :(," Michael Urie writes on Twitter.

Of course, Uptown Girls (and guys) aren't Murphy's only costars to say (or tweet) nice things about her.

Clueless pals Alicia Silverstone and Donald Faison have already commented, but now it's Stacey Dash's turn.

"I am deeply saddened by Brittney's death," she says. "She was a bright shining light and I am sorry that we will not get to watch her grow. As an actress she was an inspiration. So good. I will always remember her laugh, it was infectious."

"Let's take a moment and send our love and our hearts to Britney Murphy and her family...Such a beautiful soul, gone too soon. You are loved," says Drop Dead Gorgeous' Kirstie Alley.

Milla Jovovich, who appeared on an episode of King of the Hill, writes, "We lost an incredible person on Sunday. Brittany Murphy was one of the most talented perfomers in our industry and a wonderful human being."

"I worked with Britney Murphy in 1996," her Drive costar, Mark Dacascos, tweets. "She was 18 years-old and a bundle of positive energy. She was a joy to be around, brought smiles to everyone on set. We were amazed at how talented she was. She was refreshing and unique. She was inspired and inspiring. My deepest condolences to the Murphy Family. Britney Murphy, thank you for sharing your gifts. May you rest in peace."

Summer Catch costar Wilmer Valderrama writes, "Brittany your light, your heart, your spirit.. your humble charm to disarm while inspiring anyone to be better.. I'll remember and miss..."
