NBC/Paul Drinkwater; ABC/Mario Perez; Kelsey McNeal/FOXThe New Year is almost here, which means the fall TV season is over and we're heading straight into what the professionals call "midseason"--and what we fans just call "winter TV."
To prepare you for this changing of the seasons, we've compiled a list of midseason premieres (including such highly esteemed shows as Chuck, Lost and 24), plus return dates for shows that are going away temporarily over the winter holiday and returning in early 2010.
This calendar will be updated as we get new information, so: (A) Don't cry too hard if we don't have info yet for your favorite show--we promise to post it as soon as we know; and (B) be sure to save this page and return early and often for the latest premiere dates info!

NOTES
- Breaking Bad returns in March, exact date TBD.
- New FX series Justified (formerly Lawman) starring Timothy Olyphant premieres in March, exact date TBD.
- Lie To Me returns in late spring, exact date TBD.
- Trauma probably returns sometime after the winter Olympics.
- If you liked the Planet Earth miniseries, hang tight for the sequel. The series, called Life, is narrated by Oprah Winfrey and premieres in March on Discovery. We've seen a sample hour, and in the tradition of its predecessor, it looks amazing.
