Kanye Apologizes Again, Feels Like a Real Focker

Rapper issues another mea culpa over Taylor Swift diss, compares himself to Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents, "when he messed up everything'

At least Kanye West didn't make up some nonsense about milking cats.

But the rapper still feels very Greg Focker-esque about putting a damper on Taylor Swift's big night at the MTV Video Music Awards and turning a slew of people against him in the process.

"I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave," West wrote Monday on his blog. "That was Taylor's big moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry."

Sorry is right.

West continued his streak of odd VMA behavior Sunday, hopping onstage when Swift won for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me" to congratulate her—with one minor caveat.

"I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time," he said, putting an end to Swift's moment of glory and prompting a chorus of boos the next time his name was mentioned.

Beyoncé, in turn, invited Swift back out to "have her moment" when "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" was crowned Video of the Year.

A repentant West took to his blog shortly afterward, offering up an all-caps mea culpa to his fans and MTV and promising a more formal apology to the 19-year-old object of his disaffection the following day.

But he still undeservingly cut himself some slack by pointing out that he "is a fan of real pop culture," and therefore just had to tell it like it is.

Strangely enough, that blog post has since gone missing.

West, who was previously scheduled as a musical guest along with Rihanna and Jay-Z on tonight's premiere of The Jay Leno Show, is also now planning to sit and rap with the prime-time newcomer about what happened.
