We're starting to understand what may have prompted Brüno's preliminary NC-17 rating.

Apparently, Borat was just meant to lower our defenses before Sacha Baron Cohen hit us with the hard stuff. No pun intended.

Universal's new trailer for Brüno, the British comedian's latest satirical assault on unsuspecting Americans, is vulgar, profane, stomach-churning and offensive (to the people who came into contact with the flamboyantly effeminate Austrian fashionisto Brüno on his cross-country jaunt, anyway).

Meaning, if you're a fan of Cohen's brand of comedy, you're going to giggle your butt off and will probably love the full-length feature (in theaters July 10), which promises to be pretty darn over-the-top.

And informative. By the end, you're going to know how to defend yourself from an attacker wielding two...

Well, you'll see.
