Alec Mapa is hilarious!
The out gay comedian had everyone howling with laughter when he performed at the GLAAD Awards on Saturday in Hollywood.
Mapa, who has a small but recurring role on Desperate Housewives as Vern, covered everything from Star Trek to George W.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's Media Awards are like the Gay Oscars. They recognize achievement in the fair, balanced and positive portrayals of gay men and lesbians in the media.
Tonight’s awards ceremony took place at the Kodak Theater (yes, the home of the Academy Awards) in Hollywood.
There were so many great things said from the stage. Here are just some of the night's highlights...
T.R. Knight, opening the ceremony after receiving a standing ovation: "Today, our fight continues. It continues with the fearful ignorance by our chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, by a former NBA basketball player, by a conservative political pundit...I'm angry. I'm very angry at the inequality that we face every day. I hope I can turn my anger into action."
Brava to Teri Garr! In a town where no one likes to leave the house looking less than perfect, with their dyed hair, fake boobs, rail-thin bodies and pulled faces, Garr showed everyone what real beauty is last night, when she was wheeled onto the stage at Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger's Race to Erase MS gala in Los Angeles.
Garr is wheelchair bound because of the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
But the funnylady showed the world she hasn't lost her humor.
"I’ve learned a lot from being diagnosed with MS," she said. "One of the things I learned is I hate the letters M-S. That includes the "MS" in MSNBC, not to mention PMS, and I certainly took the Ms. off the front of my name. I now go as your Royal Highness Teri Garr."
Tom Arnold is a funny man. But his behavior at last night's Race to Erase MS gala in L.A. left most attendees scratching their heads rather then laughing.
He and Ross the Intern from The Tonight Show were the evening's guest celebrity auctioneers. Not only did Arnold ramble on way too much, he was sweating profusely through his clothing, and his voice was hoarse. The professional auctioneer on hand for the bidding had to cut him off several times in order to get things back on track.
When Lisa Rinna walked up to help auction off a Dancing with the Stars party, he grabbed her and literally pulled her onstage. Not exactly the most polite thing to do for a woman in a slinky little dress.
The Planet Gossip satellites see everything, and I give you the best sightings from around the world—and occasionally even beyond it.
THE OTHER BEEFCAKE: Wentworth Miller, having his picture taken by a female fan with a camera phone at Koo Koo Roo in the Larchmont Village neighborhood of Los Angeles.
HAPPY ANIVERSARY: Carson Daly, celebrating the fifth anniversary of his talk show at Social Hollywood with Randy Spelling, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Robin Antin.
Rob Marshall is back. And let's just hope he's bringing Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones with him.
Marshall, who directed one of my absolute favorites, Chicago, and the Weinstein Company are now going to bring another musical, Nine, to the big screen.
No doubt Sharon Stone did good last night at the Billie Awards when she helped raise a ton of cash for the Women's Sports Foundation.
However, did she really need to do it at the expense of a music legend like "Copacabana" crooner Barry Manilow?
Sir Elton John is the latest celeb to blast embattled radio talk-show host Don Imus.
"He should step down immediately," the Rocket Man said last night during his performance at the Women's Sports Foundation's Billie Awards in Beverly Hills. "That's what I want to say."
I'm in love.
On Tuesday, I got some one-on-one time with British celebrity couple Katie Price and Peter Andre. If you don't know who they are, trust me, you soon will. Their hit reality show, Katie + Peter, is finally coming to America, and it's right here on E! The photo above was taken just this week while they were shopping on—where else?—ultratrendy Robertson Boulevard.
I'll admit I didn't expect much from our meet and greet yesterday. Katie—also known as Jordan—is a blond sexpot pinup with surgically enhanced boobs that put Dolly Parton's top shelf to shame. As for Peter, he's a pop singer with tweezed eyebrows who actually color coordinates his and Katie's outfits.
Just call him Ben-Gay! Okay, maybe not.
But I can exclusively report that Ben Affleck will be a presenter at this year's Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards.Got a question about your fave celeb, the latest scandal—or just want to say hello?
Marc Malkin's on it
She's (almost) always on the list
