It's a rainy day in New York, but luckily I'm staying dry in the tents—and getting beauty tips from Michelle Trachtenberg. "Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!" she advises.
I check out the ultrafeminine collection of celebrity designer Monique Lhuillier, before popping into the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge, a backstage retreat where Deborah Cox is promoting her new album. And I mean promoting—the Canadian singer is openly pitching magazine fashion directors to be featured on their covers. Work it, girl!
Next, it's on to the W Backstage Lounge to grab a Pop burger. Apprentice diva Omarosa munched on one yesterday to pile on the protein between shows—and she's not the only one. "Models were sneaking in to grab burgers," a publicist tells me. "They don't get food backstage, so they were starving."
I bet! Some are so skinny it seems they might collapse on the runway!
The W lounge isn't just about munchies—it also provides peace and quiet for Mya's mini-manicure. The singer applies metallic polish on her bare nails, then heads to Betsey Johnson's Prom Queen runway spectacular, where fellow guests LL Cool J, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott sit around hot pink tables lining the runway.
The show, like Betsey herself, is playfully extravagant, with lots of color, big blooms and even bigger bows. I can't wait to see if eccentric Heatherette can top this spectacular tonight. Stay tuned!
