Jennifer Lawrence has experienced her fair share of embarrassing moments. She has fallen at the Oscars, she has become star struck in front of Jack Nicholson and now, she confesses, she has made a fool of herself in front of Harrison Ford. The X-Men: Apocalypse star appears on The Graham Norton Show Friday where she confesses what went down with the legendary Star Wars actor.
"I probably humiliated myself more than ever before. I never assume anyone knows who I am, but when I spotted Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams I was like, 'It'll be fine, we're all co-workers, right!'" she tells host Graham Norton.
At the time she had been out with British comedian Jack Whitehall, who witnessed the whole ordeal go down. "So I went up to them and started dancing like an idiot and the whole table just went quiet and stared at me," she continues. "I realized while I am dancing that they had absolutely no idea who I was so I just turned around and walked back to Jack dying of embarrassment."
She didn't talk to the star for the rest of the night, but the moment would come back to haunt her when he finally realized whom she was. "Later (Ford) wrote to me because someone with a 12-year-old must have told him who I was!" she adds.
Adding to insult to injury, however, was the fact that Ford recognized Whitehall because they had recently filmed a show together. "Jen had just been blanked and I was like, 'Hey, it's alright, I'll go and say hi to Harrison,' and everyone was like, 'Jack, don't do this. It will be humiliating,'" he recalled.
"I get up and walk over thinking, 'Oh God, maybe he won't remember me and I'm going to be humiliated too.' And literally as I walked over he stood up and shouted, 'Hey, Jack!' It was so funny."
J. Law has misjudged a moment before. Recently her X-Men costar, Sophie Turner, recalled a hilarious story where Lawrence misheard her and ended up punching her in the vagina—yes, you read that properly. "Evan [Peters] and I were having a fake fight and I said something like, 'I'll c--t punch you' or 'I'll punch you in the crotch,' and then Jen thought that I said, 'Please c--t punch me Jen.'"
Hard of hearing apparently, she went right ahead and did so. "She punched me in the vagina and I was like, 'Awesome.' It was pretty funny," Turner laughed.
