Motherhood completely changed Lucy Liu's life last summer after she welcomed her first child into the world.
The actress posted the very first photo of her son, Rockwell Lloyd Liu, on Twitter last August and wrote, "Introducing the new little man in my life, my son."
Shortly thereafter, a rep told E! News that Lucy's pride and joy was "brought into the world via gestational carrier."
And now, the actress is opening up to us exclusively about how she's juggling a career with being a single mom, and the many, many milestones in Rockwell's life.
"I am obviously somebody who is very career oriented. I really enjoy what I do and how I do it, but I really decided later on to consider having a family and I never really kind of had the dream of, ‘Oh, I'm going to get married and I'm going to have a baby.' I didn't dream about that, that was never really something that was in my cards necessarily," Liu, who is now part of the Tylenol #HowWeFamily Campaign, divulged.
"I think that having the ability to make that decision and that opportunity and that choice is something that is a gift, so I'm really glad I was able to go about it the way I did. My son is the greatest gift I've ever had."
Liu admitted that being a single mom is "really challenging and I think the most important thing to do is to be able to open up and ask for help."
So how is the little one now? Well, according to the proud mama, "he's started crawling, at seven months, and he's starting to get teeth now and he started eating when he was five-and-a-half months old."
"Every day there's sort of something fabulous and interesting and different that he does, you know, pulling himself up to standing, even learning how to sit down on his own is just amazing to watch the process."
