For Mariah Carey, first comes love, then comes an engagement—and then comes a jaw-dropping engagement ring.

While we're elated to hear the 45-year-old Grammy winner is set to say "I Do" to her longtime fiancé, Australian billionaire James Packer—he popped the ultimate question Thursday night over dinner at New York City's Eleven Madison Park—we're ready to gush over the 35-carat ice rink ring newly perched on her left hand.

In addition to colossal carat size, the diamond is flanked by baguettes all set in platinum. As a sentimental touch, part of the band was left bare for a future inscription from Packer, according to Vogue

The stunning piece of jewelry takes the sparkler cake as far as celebrity engagement rings are concerned. For perspective, the infamous Krupp Diamond gifted to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton clocks in under this stone at 33 carats. Beyonce's rock from Jay Z is a little more than half that at 18 carats while newlyweds Sofia Vergara and Amal Clooney's rings from Joe Manganiello and George Clooney pale in comparison at 7 carats.

So, who is responsible for such a magnificent piece of jewelry? None other than Carey's longtime pal, jewelry designer Wilfredo Rosado

"I wanted to give her something super sophisticated and something that took away all of the embellishments that a lot of people use when they design engagement rings these days," he told Vogue. "But it is epic. It's an epic ring for an epic time in her life."

An epic ring in an epically short amount of time. The designer also revealed to the magazine he and his team had around two weeks and very long days to construct the sparkler.

Much like a diamond, high pressure resulted in a masterpiece both personally and professionally.

"I wanted to create the most gorgeous ring for my dear friend," Rosado shared. "But I also wanted to create the most stunning ring for one of the most iconic divas of our generation."
