Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott and family have definitely seen their fair share of obstacles over the last few years, and that's exactly why the 90210 alum is looking forward to the holidays more this year than ever before.

"We've come far since last year and the year before," she explains to E! News' Catt Sadler. "Every year we're getting stronger and moving forward, and I think right now we're closer than ever and things are going really great."

She continues, "It's nice to be able to have the family together. Holidays are really important, especially when you've been working hard on things and you're really proud of your family and you get to celebrate together and you appreciate and are so grateful for where you came from."

Spelling and McDermott went through a bit of a rocky road in their relationship over the last couple of years. In 2013, it was revealed that McDermott had an affair—something that almost ended their marriage. However, after documenting their heartbreaking road to recovery on their True Tori docu-series, the couple seems to be moving forward in a positive direction.

In fact, this past May Tori and Dean rang in their 9th anniversary with a super sweet photo to prove to the world just how strong they are going.

A few weeks before that, Dean had gushed about his wife and their renewed relationship: "Amazing, absolutely amazing." He added of their past troubles, "The good in all of that is that it really got the two of us on track as a couple and really got our communication skills working and it got me sober and in recovery and it changed our lives and together we're stronger because of it and more in love."
