Tim Gunn isn't afraid to admit he's no fan of Anna Wintour

The 62-year-old fashion consultent recently appeared on the Meredith Viera Show (the episode airs today), where he opened up about his contentious relationship with the Vogue editor-in-chief in addition to sharing his brutally honest thoughts on Heidi Klum's wedding dress at the 2015 Emmy Awards.

"When people misbehave around me I call them out for their bad behavior," Gunn said of Wintour after admitting he's had "several" run-ins with the polarizing fashionista.

Viera then asked for a "specific" example to which Gunn replied, "The most benign of all the experiences I've had with her had to do with a question that I was asked by the New York Post and the question was the following, 'What is the most unforgettable moment you've ever seen in fashion?' Very matter of fact question and very matter of fact response and it was, 'Watching Anna Wintour being carried down 5 flights of stairs from a fashion show.'"

According to Gunn, Wintour was not happy with his remarks.

"Her office called my office the next day and demanded a retraction and I said, 'But its true, it happened.' I mean I didn't make this up and they still demanded a retraction and I said no," he recalled. "There were many calls back and forth and finally, there was a call during which her Director of Communications said, 'I'll have you know Ms. Wintour knows how to work a Manolo.

Gunn's reply?

"I said it wasn't a matter of not being able to down the stairs to descent, it was a matter of speed," he said. "She had two bodyguards, who made a firemen's lock, she sat in it. They wooshed her down these stairs and put her right into her car to get to another fashion show because this fashion show as in the fifth floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion. They had to move her fast."

Insisting his comments were not meant to be an insult, Gunn added, "She's a history revisionist, in her mind it never happened basically."

He went on to say his current relationship with Wintour is "hostile" before blasting Vogue as a publication.

"May I say this though, there is so much that happens at that unique publication that is so of another world and another planet," he revealed, "I'm happy to have a bad relationship with it because I wouldn't want to have a good one."

Gunn also shared a story about Wintour's alleged rude behavior on a plane flight, claiming she refused to greet the flight attendants.

"So she [the flight attendant] went over and this man next to Anna Wintour, she was seated at the window and he was at the aisle, rose as she rose her own hand up as a gesture of, this is now an international incident, and the man said to her, 'You have to go away Miss,'" he recalled. "So she wouldn't even allow her to lean and say, 'Ms. Wintour it's so lovely to have you on the plane.' I don't understand it."

Viera also asked the Project Runway star if he would like to "bury the hatchet" with Wintour and he calmly replied "no."

"Sorry Meredith, and may I also add I have huge respect and regard for Ms. Wintour's charitable work," he continued. "It's wonderful and my hat's off to her but I just wish that she navigated the world with a little more respect for other people."

As for Gunn's thoughts on Heidi Klum's dress at the 2015 Emmy Awards, which landed her on many a worst dressed list

"I always maintain Heidi could wear a garbage bag and look fantastic, well I stand corrected," Gunn said of the Project Runway host. "How did this happen? For me, it looks like a design that is trying too hard because I notice the dress before I even notice whose wearing it. We all know she must have had an entire rack of dozens of garments she could have chosen. I do have a theory at least about what she was thinking, and it's the following, 'I didn't want to be boring,'"

He added, "Well boring she wasn't but there is a huge fashion arena between boring and a float in a parade."

Here's hoping the brutally honest star doesn't have another feud on his hands!
