From the Emmys to the Tonys, Neil Patrick Harris has proven time and time again he can bring the laughs and entertainment to award shows.

And to our approval, it appears the Academy has taken notice!

The How I Met Your Mother star confirmed the news fans have been waiting to hear for years: He's hosting the 2015 Oscars!

"I'm in!" he shared in a video posted on Twitter. "Nice!" The actor went on to share his impressive bucket list that features everything from performing with the Muppets and rapping with Snoop Dogg, to sleeping in Cinderella's Castle and jumping out of a plane.

The only thing missing? The opportunity to host the biggest award show of the year. You can cross that off, Neil!

"It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year's Academy Awards," the actor said in a statement. "I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true."

Last year, E! News asked the talented Hollywood star when he was going to host Hollywood's biggest night.

"When they ask me?" a modest Harris said. "Someday. Who knows? That's the kind of question if you say, ‘No, I don't want to do it,' you look like a d--k. And if you say, ‘I'm dying to do it,' you look like a d--k. So you're kind of left in the middle."

With experience hosting several award shows, we have no doubt Harris will deliver.

"We are thrilled to have Neil host the Oscars," returning Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron shared in a statement. "To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage."

The 2015 Oscars are scheduled to air Feb. 22, 2015 on ABC.
