InstagramThe Pirelli Calendar (known by insiders as "The Cal") is somewhat of a mysterious industry legend.
It's an annual publication that you can't buy or order. Instead it's sent to you…that is, if you're a part of the fashion industry elite.
The calendar is shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carine Roitfeld and features 12 pages of gorgeous models. It's basically the same song with a different tune each year, but this year's Pirelli Calendar is especially notable because it will feature a plus-size model.
The publication has been around for 50 years, and Candice Huffine will be the first plus-size model to ever grace the calendar. "My presence on this set—the most glamorous in the world—is a sign that things are really changing," she told British Vogue.
It took half a century, but progress is progress. Some other models to be featured in the iconic publication? Adriana Lima, Karen Elson, Joan Smalls and up-and-coming model Gigi Hadid.
The calendar's exact release date is unknown (and it's not like you could go out and pick one up on the newsstand, anyway), but this year's theme is fetishism, and it promises to be extra-steamy—we're guessing this means latex galore.
