Late Film Critic Roger Ebert's Funeral Slated for Monday

Legendary scribe's service is set for 10 a.m. in his Chicago home-base

Roger Ebert, the legendary film critic and TV personality who passed away Thursday, will be remembered Monday in Chicago, Ill., the city where he worked at the Chicago Sun-Times for 46 years.

Ebert's service is scheduled to be held at Holy Name Cathedral according to the Chicago Tribune. The program set to begin around 10 a.m. and will be open to friends, family and fans.

But seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so get there early if you want to say your farewells in person. 

Ebert is best known for his simplified thumbs up/thumbs down movie reviews on TV and remembered for his thoughtful and entertaining prose, which earned him a Pulitzer Prize. 

In lieu of flowers for the service, mourners are being asked to send donations to The Ebert Foundation, c/o Northern Trust at 50 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago.
