Ashton Kutcher has officially filed for divorce from Demi Moore, more than a year after the couple called it quits.

The Two and a Half Men star filed his petition Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the former lovebirds' split, E! News has confirmed.

He filed for the divorce from Demi under the name "Christopher Kutcher." The separation date and property rights of each were listed as "to be determined." Kutcher requested that they each party pay their own legal fees.

There was no immediate comment from either star.

When she announced her breakup with Kutcher in November 2011, Moore released a statement saying, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton."

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore continued. "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Kutcher also chimed in post-Moore's statement, tweeting, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK."

News of the duo's split came on the heels of tabloid headlines about Kutcher's alleged affair during a guys' trip to San Diego the month before.

Despite their statements and separate lives, however, neither Moore nor Kutcher ever followed through and submitted the legal documents to end their union until now.

The actor has moved on, canoodling around the globe with former That '70s Show costar Mila Kunis. Moore had been linked to Vito Schnabel earlier this month but both have since denied any relationship.

Kutcher and Moore tied the knot in September 2005. It was her third marriage, his first.
