Just because they have super powers doesn't mean superheroes are exempt from the eyes of fashion police.

The latest Superman and Iron Man suits have been revealed, and so far, reactions seem to vary from the people that matter the most—the fans.

Henry Cavill's Superman ensemble from Man of Steel was put on display in Las Vegas recently, and then made another appearance this weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego  where fans were treated to the debut of Robert Downey Jr.'s armor from Iron Man 3.

Supes' new get-up, with its Kryptonian chain-mail chic replacing the classic Christopher Reeve latex look has polarized fans, many of whom are reacting with near Wonder Woman-levels of condemnation.

Meanwhile, even Iron Man's blinged-out gear had its detractors.

Iron Man 3 director Shane Black said during the convention that, "There were actually fans today that had anger that the suit was gold."

But at least he's supposed to wear armor, right?

What do you think of the new hero duds? Sound off in the comments!
