Allow us to clarify: the one-man Pitch Police and leader of the dawg pound is OK. It's Michael's surviving younger brother who needs your thoughts.

Randy Jackson was hospitalized in a Pasadena hospital yesterday afternoon after experiencing chest pains, which E! News has confirmed was actually a mild heart attack.

As if this month wasn't going to be difficult enough for the Jackson family.

"Randy was admitted to the hospital yesterday," the ailing Jackson's assistant told E! News. "He will be staying overnight. He suffered from a mild heart attack.

"Thank you for your concern. He is doing as well as expected."

The 48-year-old singer checked into Huntington Memorial Hospital around noon yesterday and remains there today, where he is awaiting various test results.

"He's fine," daughter Genevieve Jackson told E! News. "They are running a few tests. I'm supposed to see him soon. He will be fine."

The media wasted no time in swarming the hospital last night, and hospital spokeswoman Andrea Stalding has released only the bare minimum statement to the press:

"By law, I can only confirm patients that are in our hospital database," she said, refusing to confirm whether or not Randy was being treated at the facility.

As it is, Jackson's hospitalization came just one day after he appeared in Los Angeles Superior County Court with siblings La Toya and Jermaine and parents Katherine and Joe to watch a judge once again allow Conrad Murray to keep his California medical license.

Earlier this month, Randy tweeted his frustrations both with the ongoing battle to protect his brother's legacy and his own difficulty in dealing with Michael's death, which will mark its one-year anniversary next week.

"How do I cope?" he wrote. "I have a strong Christian faith & find power in prayer…although this month is hard."

And unfortunately, it just got a little bit harder.
