And it turns out the cops who arrived at the scene lent more than a helping hand.
Rihanna used a police officer's cell phone to call her manager, personal assistant and two other people within the first few minutes after an LAPD unit, responding to her 911 call, found her stranded on a street in Los Angeles' tony Hancock Park neighborhood, law-enforcement sources tell E! News.
All the calls went to voicemail at the time.
"[Rihanna's friends and colleagues] didn't pick up because no one recognized the numbers," a source says. Plus, because she was screaming hysterically, and that led her friends to think it was "some crazy person" calling when they first heard her voice.
Also among the alleged particulars of the incident that were left out of Det. De Shon Andrews' affidavit detailing the incident: The 21-year-old singer threw Brown's keys out of the window at some point during the altercation, but she would not have been able to drive herself home because she has, per our source, never learned how to drive.
"Now see how you'll get home," Brown told her as he took off on foot, according to the source.
E! News has also learned that Rihanna met with an L.A. County domestic-abuse counselor within 24 hours of the alleged attack, for which Brown was charged Thursday with two felony counts of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and making a criminal threat.
Brown's arraignment was postponed until April 6. The 19-year-old singer appeared Thursday afternoon alongside his attorney and signed a waiver of presence that allows his legal reps to appear on his behalf during future proceedings, with the exception of next month's arraignment.
Rihanna was not present, but her lawyer declined a court order barring Brown from contacting her.
